The Story of Beginning In the beginning there was only water. A strong wind blew over it and brought with it some earth. This earth slowly sank to the bottom of the water. One day a god was moving above the waters, and saw that the mud had sunk to the bottom of the waters. They decided to empty out some of the water. Days went by, but finally they could see the tops of piles of mud sticking out of the water. They were satisfied with this, and called the mud that had come exposed "land". The land was still barren, so the god went looking for somebody to settle it. At first they tried asking all the fish, but none were interested. Then they asked the stars, but they were not interested either. Finally, they asked the birds, who liked being able to land, but did not want to stay either. The god decided that if nobody wanted to live on the land, they needed to create something to live there themself. The god took some of the mud and started chewing on it. When they spit it out, it grew legs and walked onto the land. They repeated this several times, until the land was full of all kinds of walking and crawling creatures. The fish, the birds, and the stars got curious of what was happening and came to see. When they saw the land animals, they were joyed and wanted to give a gift to them. The gift was plants. After the creation of the land animals and the gift of the plants, the god was still feeling like something was missing from the land. They took some mud, but this time instead of chewing on it they kneaded it and shaped it with their hands. The result of this was humans, and this finally satisfied the god. > index (Back to start)
