The Story of Beginning
In the beginning there was chaos. Two gods came across it and could not
decide what they should do with the chaos. One wanted to form order out
of it but the other wanted to get rid of the chaos and start afresh from
emptiness. They agreed to wrestle to settle the issue. They wrestled for
a while, but neither could get the upper hand.
They were at a loss: they could not know whether to work on the chaos they
had or to unmake it and start from emptiness. They relayed their troubles
to a god even older than them known as Aran, which means 'the first', who
thought for a while, and then proclaimed: "If you can not decide between
creating order or unmaking, you shall do neither. You shall work on the
chaos, without changing its nature". The two gods protested, but Aran
stood fast behind the decision.
Eventually the gods acquiesced and got to work. They shaped wondrous
things out of the chaos, like the stormy seas or the mountains which
sometimes spew out fire. They made tiny things out of the chaos, like the
way a leaf flutters down as it falls from the tree. And they made us, who
all we might try, are fundamentally part of this same chaos. We know these
two gods as Etis which means 'everything' and Vetis which means 'nothing'.

The other god agreed that they should therefore make order out of the
chaos, and they got to work. However, the disagreement had created a crack
in their relationship and they often bickered about the direction to take.
In the end, the two gods agreed that each would get one side of the world
to work on: The one favoring making order from chaos got the light side,
and was known as Omunnod which means 'the greatest light'. And the one
favoring going first to nothing got the dark side, and was known as
Emelled 'the greatest darkness'.
From that day onward the two gods still continue their work, but each
staying out of the other's area. We are a creation of Omunnod, and so we
too ought to stay away when the darkness of Emelled comes.

The Story of Beginning
In the beginning there was nothing. A god came across the nothingness and
laid down for they were tired. The body of the god started to be consumed
into the nothingness and they could not longer rise up again. The body of
this god, known as Lomoti Aran which means 'source of earth', became the
land that we live on.
A second god came across the body and was horrified to see what had
happened. They swore to unmake this emptiness, but Lomoti Aran spoke to
them and said: "Do not forsake what is left of me".
This made the second god pause, and they agreed to not unmake the
emptiness. The two gods spoke for a while about what they ought to do, and
eventually decided that they ought to make the emptiness empty no more.
The second god got to work filling it with all kinds of marvels: lights in
the sky we now know as stars, the sun, and the moon; valleys that we call
our home; the mountains in the west; the rivers that we get our sustenance
from.
However, they could see what they had created was empty still. Then Lomoti
Aran had an idea, and told the other god: "This world needs something that
is of us, but is not broken. Become a part of this world with me, and give
fill it with life". The other god hesitated, but eventually agreed. We
know this god as Ritul, 'life', itself.

life, which has in it the heavenly light but is found on the earth.

The Story of Beginning
In the beginning there was only water. A strong wind blew over it and
brought with it a goose. The goose was bewildered and tried to find a
place where it could land, but could not see anything. It cried to the
god of air: "I am here, there is only water, what can I do? I am tired,
I must land".
The god of air heard the goose and called all the gods into consultation.
They agreed that they must create land for the goose, and so a young god
started piling up mud for the goose to land on. The goose did so, and for
a while lived happily on this pile of mud. However, one day a great wave
came, and washed away the mud. The goose once again called for help.
This time the gods agreed that they must build it stronger. The same god,
now a bit older, made the land out of rocks. The goose was again happy for
a while, but even the rocks slowly wore away. After a while, the goose was
again without a home, and called for help.
The gods were at a loss and suggested that they should just build a new
out of rocks again, but the builder god, now quite old, disagreed: "As
long as the land is not alive, it will wither away. I will become the new
land myself, and you shall never have to worry about this again". The
other gods thought this to be wise.
The god got down into the down, and covered themself with mud and rock.
Then they spoke the words, and became mud and rocks themself too. We now
call this god Moti, which means 'earth'. The goose landed on this new land,
and could immediately feel it was different, full of life. They laid and
egg, and from the egg crawled off the lizards. They laid another egg, and
from the egg walked off the animals of the forests. They laid a third egg,
and from the egg walked off the animals of the home. They laid a final egg,
and from there walked off a human.

The Story of Beginning

In the beginning there was only water. A strong wind blew over it and
brought with it some earth. This earth slowly sank to the bottom of the
water.
One day a god was moving above the waters, and saw that the mud had sunk
to the bottom of the waters. They decided to dive to the bottom and bring
some of it up, and in time they had managed to construct a small island.
At first the island was barren and lifeless, but then the wind blew some
seeds there and the plants gradually grew. However, the god saw that the
plants would soon consume the entire island, and so fashioned out of clay
some animals to eat the plants. The animals ate the plants, but now the
god saw that the animals would consume all the plants, so they created
other animals to eat the first ones. But yet again they were faced with
the problem of these other kind of animals consuming all of the first kind.
The god stood deep in thought for a while, despairing how they would have
to keep this cycle of creation up forever. Then it came to them – what was
needed was a way for everything alive to eventually come to an end. And so
finally, they dove to the bottom of the sea, and in there they found
death.
The god spoke to death: "I have a task for you. You must make it so that
all the plants and all the animals I have created will in time come to an
end". To this death answered: "Very well, but if you are to sign everyone
else to this fate, it shall be yours too". The god thought for a while,
and then revised their request: "Everything shall end, yes, but eventually
come back. This fate I shall accept too". The death agreed, and ended the
god.
When the god returned, they saw that the island was doing well, and that
there was more mud in the water. And so they started the cycle of building
again.

The Story of Beginning
In the beginning there was only water. A strong wind blew over it and
brought with it some earth. This earth slowly sank to the bottom of the
water.
One day a god was moving above the waters, and saw that the mud had sunk
to the bottom of the waters. They decided to empty out some of the water.
Days went by, but finally they could see the tops of piles of mud sticking
out of the water. They were satisfied with this, and called the mud that
had come exposed "land".
The land was still barren, so the god went looking for somebody to settle
it. At first they tried asking all the fish, but none were interested.
Then they asked the stars, but they were not interested either. Finally,
they asked the birds, who liked being able to land, but did not want to
stay either. The god decided that if nobody wanted to live on the land,
they needed to create something to live there themself.
The god took some of the mud and started chewing on it. When they spit it
out, it grew legs and walked onto the land. They repeated this several
times, until the land was full of all kinds of walking and crawling
creatures. The fish, the birds, and the stars got curious of what was
happening and came to see. When they saw the land animals, they were joyed
and wanted to give a gift to them. The gift was plants.
After the creation of the land animals and the gift of the plants, the god
was still feeling like something was missing from the land. They took some
mud, but this time instead of chewing on it they kneaded it and shaped it
with their hands. The result of this was humans, and this finally
satisfied the god.
